Vessa Fulton “Over the Rainbow”
Performing Arts Scholarship
Vessa Fulton was an active member of the Christiana Rotary club from March 1999 until she passed away from an inspiring battle with ovarian cancer in October 2012. Vessa left the corporate world in 1995 to realize her true calling – Performing! She was a multi-talented performer, entertaining audiences as a singer, actor, dancer and model. Vessa was larger than life, had a heart of gold and believed that “all the world is a stage!” She had a unique ability to personally touch each person she met, and her joy and zest for life were contagious!
Vessa was the Programs Director for the club. She was a Paul Harris Fellow and received many awards during her time as a Rotarian, including the Service above Self Award, the Four Avenues of Service Award and an Outstanding Achievement Award. Vessa exemplified the true meaning of Rotary – Service Above Self. She lived her life by the four-way test – Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all? She considered each member of the club her family!
The Christiana Rotary Club and Foundation is honored to establish and award the Vessa Fulton “Over the Rainbow” Performing Arts Scholarship in her memory.
The scholarship is a four-year, $4,000 scholarship payable directly to the student’s college or university. The payout will be $500 per semester for two semesters per year.
