Welcome to the pages of Christiana Rotary's website, and congratulations on becoming a member of what we feel is one of the best Rotary Clubs in the USA. One of the easiest ways to learn about Rotary International and The Christiana Rotary Club is to read the pages of this website, starting with the public pages, and ending with the pages Just For Members. Between the information provided on these pages, and the useful links that get you even more information, you have just about everything you need to know about Rotary at your fingertips. The best way to begin as a new member is to do the following 3 things: (1) become involved right away, (2) get started with the checklist of activities, and (3) obtain a mentor. Read on.
1. Become Involved Right Away -
New members who immediately become involved in the projects and activities of our Club find that they get a lot more out of their initial Rotary experience. This is in contrast with new members whose only involvement during their first several months is coming to lunch each week. We hope that you will become familiar with our Club early on, and that you will speak up and become involved.
2. Checklist Of Activities -
This checklist will help you to get a running start on your membership in Christiana Rotary. To view the checklist, click here.
3. Ask For A Mentor -
Although it is not a requirement, a Mentor can be assigned to guide you through your first few months in Christiana Rotary. You can expect your Mentor to help you in the following ways:
A. The Mentor will meet with you, review and explain the checklist of activities, and encourage and assist you to proceed with these activities.
B. The Mentor will meet with you periodically to review your progress with the checklist, offer suggestions, offer to facilitate, and offer encouragement.
C. Your Mentor will record your accomplishment on the checklist.
D. Your Mentor will make sure that you meet other Club members. You will be advised and encouraged to sit at different tables each week. There are no members in this Club who would not enjoy meeting you.
E. You will get help on how to be a greeter at the check-in table, how to make up a missed meeting, why you should wear your Rotary pin, and how to select a Club committee to work on.
F. You will be shown the usefulness of our Club's website.
